When Ford Mustang was introduced to the US Market on April 17th, 1964 and delivered to the first customer at US$ 2,368.00 the inquiry was immense. Before introduction Ford made an estimate of approx. 100.000 cars in the first year. Ford realized very fast the calculation had been wrong; 22.000 cars were ordered on the first day!

Americans found even a pet name for their favourite. The stallion on the front grill made it a: "Pony-Car". A Mythic was born...

1964 begins the Pony car history, branded as a 1965 Model, the new Mustang was a complete success.
