Ford Mustang 2005 Interior

  • Interior

The interior is the best expression yet of Ford’s deep dive into its own heritage. Like the 427 concept vehicle, the Mustang’s interior refers to the Mustang’s past but doesn’t strand it back in the Sixties. Twin binnacles divide the cockpit and available chrome gauge rings and aluminium panels dress them up in the finest retro style, while a six-inch increase in wheelbase makes the back seat more than the token gesture provided by past ’Stangs. The thought of using the back seat for something other than sitting might even cross the minds of the more adventurous.

The 2005 Mustang is the first car in the world, letting its owner choose between 125 different colours for the illumination of the instruments. A clever colour-customizing feature lets drivers change the hue of the gauges across the spectrum, something we hadn’t missed in other cars but there’s no way we’d live without. And another interior colour package drops red leather and cloth throughout the cabin for a full Detroit treatment that makes ordering a one-of-a-kind Mustang all that much easier.
